Performa has formed a joint venture with Travel Food Services Limited (one of the leading provider of food outlets in the travel industry in India) to manage the lounge operations at Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, which is set to be operational in early 2014. Considered one of the largest and most prestigious opportunities at the new terminal, the airline lounges will provide First and Business Class passengers with unique and bespoke services to deliver a premium passenger experience.

Requirements

To undertake the concession to design, fit-out, finance, develop, operate, maintain and manage the common use lounges at the new Mumbai Terminal 2.

The Process

Performa and joint venture partner Travel Food Services Limited have founded a separate legal entity in Mumbai, which allowed the forming of a project organization to cooperate daily with the airport authorities, the designer, the architects and the construction firms to ensure a smooth start-up of the airport’s new premium lounge facilities.

The Solution

The project covered everything from concept design to construction, marketing and service concepts, technical planning, selection of materials, production of furniture etc. Upon its opening, Performa and joint venture partner Travel Food Services Limited will manage the lounges under the brand "Mumbai Airport Lounge Services Private Limited" for more than 30 airline customers, including staffing, life cooking, catering, cleaning and maintenance.

A visit to our lounges will be akin to a Five-Star Hotel experience with highly personalized service, generous seating set-up and care to details. The service concept is based on maximum comfort, providing the highest level of attention without compromising the passenger’s privacy. Passengers will enjoy top level services such as à la carte dining, or individual spa treatments and will be able to make bookings for relaxation rooms, showers, movies, concierge and porter services, etc. Our kitchen crew, led by an internationally renowned executive chef, will transform the à la carte dining area into a gourmet restaurant with highest culinary standards. The lounge’s service personnel will exclusively consist of highly trained, multi-lingual Senior Attachés with a background in the Five-Star Hotel industry.
